System Requirements, Associated Costs and Support for Connectivity Information

Minimum system requirements for being a Direct Data Entry (DDE) user:

  • A Windows-based personal computer
  • A voice grade telephone line
  • A modem capable of operating at a baud rate of 33.6 kbs, or higher
  • A FISS Logon ID and Password, assigned by UGS, for each user who needs online access

Connectivity to FISS via the AT&T Global Network (AGNS) as provided by one of the following two vendors:

  • IVANSexternal,  provides a direct connection to the DDE system via a high-speed secure Internet solution.  IVANS charges a flat fee for this connection.  For those providers who only submit small numbers of claims, IVANS also offers a dial-up solution as an alternative which will only be charged as the connectivity is used.   IVANS contracts may be obtained by going to the IVANSexternal web site.   • VisionShareexternal, a company which facilitates connectivity from a user's Internet (ISP) to AGNS and on to FISS, simulating a 3270 (online) session. VisionShare agreements are obtained directly from VisionShare.
