Enterprise Data Center (EDC) Transition

EDI Moratorium

The following information applies to Part A providers in Wisconsin; home health and hospice providers in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, and New Jersey; and all federally qualified health centers (FQHC).

This notification is a reminder that on April 22, 2008 National Government Services, Inc. will be transitioning from the NGS Data Center to the EDS Enterprise Data Center. This transition affects only the following providers: Medicare Part A for Wisconsin, RHHI for Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, New York and New Jersey and Federally Qualified Health Centers for all regions. All current DDE IDs will be replaced with new IDs issued by the EDS Enterprise Data Center. To prepare for this transition, National Government Services will put a brief moratorium on assigning new FISS User IDs. Requests for new user IDs will be held starting on April 7, 2008 and will be processed after the April 22 transition. You may continue to submit your new requests; however, you will not receive IDs until at least April 30.

As a reminder, if you are a current user of the FISS online system and your facility has not yet completed the Transition Contact Form located at http://www.empiremedicare.com/omnipro/forms/newuser_wi.htmexternal, you must do so before March 21 to avoid disruption in service during the data center transition. Completing this form will ensure that National Government Services will be able to distribute the new DDE IDs in a timely manner.

National Government Services will be publishing a training schedule in early April to assist you with logging into the new data center, changing your password, setting up your Automated Password Reset Tool and accessing FISS. Please check our Web site at www.NGSMedicare.comexternal for regular updates starting in April.

If you have any questions, please contact the EDI help desk at 877-273-4334.
